The Peacock and the Crane

Once upon a time there was a peacock named Serendipity who was so proud of her colorful feathers.  She would go around and display such beauty.  She would do this everyday in front of everybody.  Her neighbor, a crane, was fed up of the peacock’s boastfulness so she decided to finally end it by proving a point.

“Your feathers are beautiful but are useless.  Look at me, I can use my plain white feathers to fly!” the crane proudly said as she flapped her wings and started to fly.

“Can you fly higher?” the unimpressed peacock responded.

“But yes of course!” the crane proudly answered as she flew higher and higher until she hit the zoo cage ceiling  totally breaking her neck.  She died.

Morale of the story: “There’s a thing called beauty and brains”
